Bollywood actress Shraddha Kapoor has suffered a fracture in her left leg while performing a Lavani dance on the set of her upcoming biopic Eetha. The incident has forced the production to halt shooting for the next two weeks.
Shraddha, who gained 15 kilograms for the role, was portraying the character of Vitabai Bhau Narayangavkar, a renowned Lavani performer. According to reports, the actress was performing a high-energy Lavani sequence wearing a bright nine-yard saree, heavy jewelry, and a traditional waist belt. During one step, she put her full weight on one leg, lost her balance, and fell, resulting in the fracture.
The incident occurred during the shooting in Aundhewadi, near Nasik, in early November. Director Laxman Utekar immediately halted the Nasik schedule. Sources indicate that Shraddha, determined not to lose valuable shooting days, suggested rearranging the schedule so that her close-up scenes could be filmed in the meantime.
After returning to Mumbai, Shraddha resumed shooting some emotional sequences on the Mad Island set, but increasing pain in her leg led to the decision to pause filming entirely for two weeks.
Fans and the film fraternity are sending their best wishes for her speedy recovery, while the production team works on rescheduling the shoot to accommodate her recovery period.
