Potty Suitcase, Grenades, Missiles… 10 Key Points About Vladimir Putin’s Tight Security During India Visit

New Delhi: Russian President Vladimir Putin is arriving in India for a two-day visit to attend the 23rd India-Russia Summit, where he will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and meet President Droupadi Murmu. Ahead of his arrival, Delhi security agencies are on high alert, with senior officials preparing extensive safety measures. Russia’s own security teams have also arrived in India to oversee and coordinate security arrangements. Here’s a look at 10 key aspects of Putin’s security during the visit:

  1. Multiple Security Layers Across Delhi
From 4–5 December, Delhi will be encircled by multi-layered security, involving the Delhi Police, central agencies, and Putin’s private security team. SWAT teams, anti-terror units, and rapid response squads will be deployed at strategic points. Drone surveillance, CCTV monitoring, and technical intelligence systems will be in place throughout the city.
  2. Four Layers of Personal Protection
Putin’s personal security typically involves four layers. The innermost circle consists of his closest bodyguards. The second layer is embedded within the crowd. The third layer is positioned outside the crowd but near the inner circle. The outermost layer includes snipers stationed on rooftops.
  3. Highly Trained Bodyguards
Bodyguards in the inner circle are hand-to-hand combat experts, extremely vigilant, and trained to respond instantly to threats.
  4. Bulletproof Suitcases
Putin is often accompanied by bodyguards carrying bulletproof suitcases or umbrellas. These serve as shields against sudden attacks and may also contain firearms for emergency defense.
  5. Food Sampling
Before every meal, a sample of Putin’s food is tested to ensure safety and prevent poisoning.
  6. Pre-Visit Security Checks
Russian security teams arrive days in advance to inspect venues, roads, and routes. Additional checks are conducted hours before his arrival to guarantee safety.
  7. Decoy Convoys
Multiple identical cars in Putin’s convoy create confusion, making it impossible for outsiders to know which vehicle he is traveling in.
  8. Armored Vehicles
All vehicles in the convoy are bullet- and bomb-proof. Armed personnel in these vehicles carry grenades, missiles, AK-47s, and advanced weaponry, ready to neutralize threats instantly.
  9. Air-Defended Residence
Putin’s official residence is equipped with air defense systems, capable of intercepting missile attacks and safeguarding him from airborne threats.
  10. “Potty Suitcase” and Trusted KGB Officers
Reports claim that a special suitcase collects Putin’s biological waste during the trip, preventing foreign intelligence from obtaining sensitive health data. Trusted former or current KGB officers are part of his inner security circle, reflecting decades of experience and loyalty.

Putin’s India visit demonstrates an extraordinary level of security combining modern technology, personal vigilance, and elaborate contingency planning to protect the Russian president at every moment.
