Around 9.5 Million Names Removed from Draft Voter Lists in MP, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and Andaman & Nicobar
The Election Commission of India has released the draft voter lists for Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Kerala, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. Following a Special Intensive Revision (SIR), approximately 9.5 million names have been removed from the electoral rolls across these states and the Union Territory.
Key Figures from the Draft Lists
Andaman & Nicobar: Out of 3.10 lakh voters, around 64,000 names were excluded from the draft list.
Kerala: More than 2.78 crore voters were on the rolls, of which 24.08 lakh names were removed.
Chhattisgarh: Out of 2.12 crore registered voters, 27.34 lakh names were deleted. The SIR report revealed that 1,79,043 voters were registered at multiple locations, accounting for roughly 1% of the total voters.
