First Phase of SIR Campaign in MP Completed: 42 Lakh Names Recommended for Removal, 9 Lakh to Receive Notices

Bhopal: The first phase of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign in Madhya Pradesh, aimed at updating the voter list, was completed at midnight on Thursday. Officials said the preliminary draft of the updated electoral rolls will be published on Tuesday. During the revision, the Election Commission identified nearly 42 lakh voters whose names are to be removed from the list. This includes deceased voters, duplicate entries, those who have relocated, and others who are otherwise ineligible. In addition, over 9 lakh voters were found to have incomplete information and will be issued formal notices.
