Patna: A vigilance court in Patna on Thursday convicted and sentenced Amarjeet Kumar, the then Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Jakkanpur police station, to three years of rigorous imprisonment in a five-year-old bribery case. The court also imposed a fine of ₹10,000 on the officer after the charges were proven true. According to vigilance officials, the case dates back to 2016, when the ASI had allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹10,000 from a complainant in exchange for writing the case diary in his favour.
