Mumbai: Political tensions in Maharashtra are running high ahead of the municipal council elections, with leaders engaging in sharp verbal exchanges. On Thursday, Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and legislator Abu Asim Azmi launched a fierce attack on state minister Nitesh Rane. In a cutting remark, Azmi described Rane as “four feet tall, mentally flawed, and a bad boy.”
Azmi’s criticism came in response to a controversial statement by Rane in September, in which he allegedly declared that he would enter a mosque and target individuals one by one, a remark that sparked widespread condemnation.
