Kishanganj (Bihar): In a major crackdown on cross-border smuggling, the Border Security Force (BSF) has apprehended two individuals involved in gold smuggling from Bangladesh into India. Officials recovered gold worth approximately ₹2.4 crore hidden inside bundles of firewood. The operation took place on 24 November, when BSF personnel from the 184 Battalion (Kishanganj Sector, North Bengal Frontier) received intelligence about a suspicious individual near the IBFF gate. Ratan Bishra (23), son of Som Bishra from Indira Colony, Bamanbari, Golpokhar, West Bengal, was intercepted carrying bundles of dry wood.
