Following the sudden death of 15 cattle, five villagers—two children and three adults—fell ill after consuming milk from the infected cows. The Chhindwara Animal Disease Research Laboratory has confirmed that the deaths were caused by a Gram-positive cocci bacterial infection, a pathogen that spreads through contaminated milk, water, or fodder.
