Giriraj Singh Urges Law Against Religious Conversion, Warns Bihar Should Not Become “Another Kerala”
Patna, 15 Dec 2025: Union Minister Giriraj Singh has called for stringent legislation to curb alleged religious conversions in Bihar. Highlighting the issue, he stated that poor citizens are reportedly being lured with incentives to change their faith, and urgent measures are needed to prevent this trend.
“Religious conversions are happening at an alarming pace across Bihar. If not addressed in time, Bihar could risk becoming another Kerala,” Giriraj Singh said, emphasizing the need for a concrete law to protect vulnerable communities from inducements or coercion.
Appeal for Legislative ActionSingh appealed to the government to introduce a robust legal framework immediately to regulate religious conversions and safeguard the interests of the economically weaker sections of society.
