Kharagpur, Chhattisgarh: Security forces in Chhattisgarh achieved a significant victory in the anti-Naxal operations with the surrender of Kamla Sodi, a hardcore female Naxal with a bounty of ₹17 lakh on her head. Kamla decided to abandon violence and return to the mainstream, trekking 12 hours on foot to surrender to the police.
The Surrender
Kamla Sodi, also known as Ungi or Taruna (30), surrendered before SP Lakshya Sharma in the Kharagpur-Chhuikhadan-Gandai (KCG) district. Police officials stated that her decision was influenced by the Chhattisgarh Government’s Surrender and Rehabilitation Policy 2025, which has been yielding positive results in encouraging Naxals to reintegrate into society.
