A Uttar Pradesh Police team from Mathura came under a violent and life-threatening attack in Rajasthan’s Deeg district while attempting to arrest a kidnapping accused. The mob not only assaulted the officers with sticks and stones but also dragged a sub-inspector inside a house and tried to strangulate him.

The incident took place in Ikelara village of Deeg. A police team from Govardhan Police Station—comprising SI Nitin Tyagi, Jitendra Kumar, and Women SI Sunita Singh—had arrived to arrest Amit Thakur, a resident of the village and a wanted accused in a kidnapping case.
