BSNL has rolled out its new in-house mobile application, ‘Sanchar Mitra’, across India. The app is designed to replace the previous Sanchar Aadhaar platform and streamline services like SIM issuance and KYC verification for customers. Notably, the app is completely indigenous, developed entirely by BSNL engineers, ensuring better control and data security.
The Sanchar Mitra app has been launched to simplify the registration process for new customers and expedite SIM issuance. Earlier, the Sanchar Aadhaar app, developed by a private company, facilitated Aadhaar-based e-KYC for new connections. However, the contract with that company ended in November 2025, causing delays in SIM issuance and replacement services. BSNL developed Sanchar Mitra to address these challenges efficiently.
Key Features and Benefits:
- Indigenous Development: Created entirely by BSNL engineers, the app reduces dependence on foreign companies and ensures better control over services and data.
- Faster Registration and SIM Issuance: New customers can complete registration quickly, receive SIM cards faster, and carry out replacement or KYC procedures seamlessly.
- Enhanced Data Security: With BSNL managing the app in-house, customer data remains secure within the company’s infrastructure.
- Nationwide Availability: Sanchar Mitra has been rolled out across India, starting with Karnataka, and will soon be accessible to all customers nationwide.
With the launch of Sanchar Mitra, BSNL aims to enhance customer experience, reduce operational delays, and provide more reliable, secure, and efficient telecom services to its users.
