Weather Alert for December 14: Dense Fog in 16 Districts, Clouds Over Six Cities Including Delhi

Northern India is grappling with severe cold, and the weather is expected to change in six major cities tomorrow, December 14. The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of dense fog in 16 districts, urging commuters to exercise caution, especially during early morning travel.

Heavy Snowfall Alert in Himachal Pradesh

Himachal Pradesh’s Manali, Shimla, Samdo, Tabo, and Kukumseri are on alert for heavy snowfall. Temperatures are expected to drop sharply in these areas, with Manali recording a minimum of -6°C. Uttarakhand districts including Nainital, Mussoorie, and Chamoli will also see a steep fall in temperatures.

Cloudy Skies Across Six Cities

Tomorrow, the skies over Delhi, Shimla, Manali, Dehradun, Gulmarg, and Srinagar are expected to be covered with dark clouds. Gulmarg could witness temperatures dropping to as low as 2°C, while Manali may experience record-breaking cold with heavy snow.

Dense Fog Warning in 16 Districts

Dense fog is expected to affect visibility in several parts of northern and eastern India:

  • Bihar: Patna, Saran, Buxar, Bhojpur, Purnia, Araria
  • Uttar Pradesh: Lucknow, Kanpur, Ayodhya, Barabanki
  • Rajasthan: Jaipur, Kota
  • Madhya Pradesh: Bhopal, Indore

Motorists are advised to drive cautiously as visibility could drop significantly in the morning.

Uttar Pradesh Forecast

Several cities in UP, including Lucknow, Ayodhya, Barabanki, and Gautam Buddh Nagar, will experience a drop in temperature. Dense fog in Bareilly, Kushinagar, Gorakhpur, and Ayodhya may reduce visibility to near zero.

Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh Forecast

Maximum temperatures in several districts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh are expected to fall to around 10°C. Shimla and Manali are likely to experience snowfall, adding to the chill in the region.

Commuters and residents are advised to stay updated on weather conditions and take necessary precautions to deal with fog, cold waves, and snowfall.
