Nagina MP Chandrashekhar Azad Faces Major Setback: Allahabad High Court Dismisses Four Petitions
Prayagraj: Chandrashekhar Azad, National President of the Azad Samaj Party and Member of Parliament from Nagina, has suffered a significant setback in the Allahabad High Court. A single-judge bench headed by Justice Sameer Jain on Wednesday dismissed Azad’s petitions seeking to quash criminal proceedings against him in connection with the Saharanpur violence case. The court had reserved its judgment on 27 November.
The case originates from a complaint filed by Sudhir Kumar Gupta at Saharanpur Kotwali Dehat police station, under IPC Sections 147, 148, 149, and 435. The trial is ongoing before the Special Judge-ADJ at the MP-MLA Court in Saharanpur.
