Pakistan to Relaunch Its Own Indigenous App ‘BEEP’, Inspired by China’s WeChat
Pakistan is set to relaunch its own mobile app designed exclusively for government employees, offering secure communication with end-to-end encryption. The app, named ‘BEEP Pakistan’, draws inspiration from China’s popular messaging platform WeChat, prompting comparisons to the Chinese model.
According to reports presented to the National Assembly’s IT and Telecom Committee, the app is nearly complete and is expected to go live within the next few months, with the official project deadline set for 30 June 2026.
