BJP Criticizes Rahul Gandhi’s Germany Visit During Winter Session

New Delhi: Amid the heated parliamentary debate on SIR, vote theft, and Vande Mataram, the BJP has launched an attack on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for planning a five-day trip to Germany during the ongoing winter session. Gandhi is scheduled to visit Germany from 15th to 20th December to meet Indian diaspora members and several German ministers.

Kangana Raut Targets Rahul Gandhi

BJP MP Kangana Raut questioned the timing of Gandhi’s visit, stating that he lacks character and strength. Speaking to reporters ahead of Lok Sabha proceedings on Wednesday, Raut said, “I do not read news about him because it is always trivial. I cannot comment on his visit specifically, but it is clear why his party is struggling. The individual lacks vigor and character, so I have nothing to say.”

Purpose of Rahul Gandhi’s Germany Visit

According to the Indian Overseas Congress (IOC), Gandhi’s Germany visit will serve as a valuable platform for dialogue on India’s global role. He will engage with the Indian diaspora, exchange ideas, and explore opportunities with German lawmakers and ministers.

IOC UK unit Secretary Vikram Duhan highlighted that the visit will strengthen ties between India and the global Indian community. IOC Germany Chairman Balvinder Singh confirmed that Gandhi will be accompanied by IOC President Sam Pitroda during the trip.

Support from IOC Austria

IOC Austria President Ousaf Khan welcomed Rahul Gandhi’s visit, stating, “We are honoured to host the Leader of Opposition and Member of Parliament, Rahul Gandhi, who will engage with the Indian diaspora in Berlin on 17th December 2025.”

The trip underscores Gandhi’s efforts to connect with overseas Indians while also raising India’s profile on an international platform, even as domestic political debates continue to intensify.
