Nitish Kumar Pays Tribute to Father on Death Anniversary at Native Village

Nalanda, Bihar, 29 November 2025: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited his ancestral village, Kalyan Bigaha, on Saturday to pay heartfelt tributes to his late father, freedom fighter Kaviraj Ramlakhan Singh, on his death anniversary. This marked the CM’s first visit to his native village after taking oath for the tenth term as Chief Minister.

During the visit, Kumar garlanded the statue of his father at the village memorial and also offered floral tributes to the statues of his late mother, Parmeshwari Devi, and wife, Manju Sinha. The memorial was specially cleaned and decorated for the occasion.

Presence of Leaders, Officials, and Family Members
The event saw the presence of Kumar’s elder brother Satish Kumar and other family members, as well as political and social leaders including MP Kaushalendra Kumar, MLAs Krishna Murari Sharan, Jitendra Kumar, Kaushal Kishore, Rohel Ranjan, MLCs Sanjay Kumar Singh (Gandhi Ji) and Lalan Sarraf, JDU National General Secretary Manish Kumar Verma, former MLA E. Sunil Kumar, and JDU Block President Ravikant Kumar. Villagers recalled the services of Kaviraj Ramlakhan Singh, who dedicated his life to treating people and serving society in Bakhtiyarpur.

Interacting with Locals and Feeding Fish at Village Pond
Following the tribute, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar visited the Bhagwati Temple for rituals and then went to the pond near his ancestral home, where he fed fish. During his roughly 30-minute visit, the CM interacted warmly with villagers, inquiring about their well-being and listening to their concerns.

Officials Directed for Prompt Action
Present at the event were senior officials including Chief Secretary Kumar Ravi, Secretary Dr. Chandrashekhar Singh, Patna IG Jitendra Rana, Patna DM Dr. Thyagarajan SM, Nalanda DM Kundan Kumar, and SP Bharat Soni. Nitish Kumar instructed them to ensure prompt resolution of local issues.

The visit reflected the CM’s personal connection to his roots and his commitment to addressing local concerns while honoring the legacy of his father.
