New Delhi: A video of Indian pace bowler Jasprit Bumrah has gone viral on social media, showing him losing his temper at an airport over a fan recording him without permission. The incident occurred while Bumrah was waiting in line for check-in, when a fan approached him and started recording a selfie video up close without consent.
Initially, Bumrah tried to stop the fan and issued a warning, but when the fan ignored him, Bumrah snatched the phone from the fan’s hands.
“Don’t tell me if it falls,” Bumrah warned
The viral clip captures the interaction between Bumrah and the fan. As the fan said, “I’ll go with you, sir”, Bumrah firmly responded, “If your phone falls, don’t tell me.” When the fan casually replied, “It’s okay, sir”, Bumrah immediately took the phone. His strict reaction has sparked discussions on social media, with some fans criticizing his actions while others support his stance on personal boundaries.
Bumrah’s Performance in the Series
Bumrah is currently part of the ongoing T20 series against South Africa. He delivered an impressive performance in the first match in Cuttack, taking 2 wickets for just 17 runs, but struggled in the second game at Mullanpur, conceding 45 runs without taking a wicket. Due to personal reasons, he missed the third T20 in Dharamshala, which was confirmed by the BCCI.
Team India’s Position in the Series
India currently leads the five-match series 2-1. The fourth T20, scheduled at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow, was abandoned due to poor air quality and heavy fog. The fifth and final match will take place on 19 December at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, where fans hope Bumrah will return to his lethal form and play a key role in securing the series win for India.
