Following the recent blast near Delhi’s Red Fort on November 10 and the exposure of a “white-collar” terror module, the Jammu & Kashmir Police have intensified their operations against individuals and networks linked to terrorist organizations. In a major action, police conducted extensive raids and inspections across multiple mosques and madrasas in Srinagar.
According to officials, the move aims to strike at pro-terror ecosystems, identify radical elements, and prevent extremist ideologies from spreading in the region.
Raids Conducted Across All Police Zones
A police spokesperson confirmed that coordinated search operations were carried out simultaneously across all zones of Srinagar. Each team included executive magistrates and independent witnesses to ensure complete transparency and compliance with legal procedures.
During the searches, officials examined digital devices, documents, and other materials that could provide insights into suspicious activities or terror financing.
Red Fort Blast Triggered Intensified Security Measures
The crackdown comes in the aftermath of the Red Fort-area car explosion in Delhi, which prompted agencies to widen the investigation footprint in Jammu & Kashmir. Two key suspects—Maulvi Irfan from Shopian and Maulvi Ishtiaq from Haryana’s Mewat region—have already been arrested for their alleged involvement in the terror network.
Police believe that dismantling local support systems is essential to preventing future attacks and weakening extremist elements operating in the Valley.
Goal: Identify Radical Activities, Restore Peace
Authorities emphasized that the operations target only those suspected of aiding extremist groups or engaging in radical activities. The purpose, they said, is to protect national security, maintain public order, and ensure that Srinagar remains free from the influence of terror-backed elements.
The police reiterated that all actions were undertaken strictly within the framework of the law, with accountability ensured at every step.
Appeal for Public Cooperation
Srinagar Police urged citizens to cooperate with investigations and immediately report any suspicious activities or individuals to law enforcement agencies. Officials stated that similar operations will continue wherever reliable intelligence inputs are received.
Maintaining peace in the region and safeguarding citizens, they added, remains the topmost priority of the Jammu & Kashmir Police.
