Ankita Bhandari Murder Case: BJP Leader Dushyant Gautam Appeals to Remove Misleading Videos and Audio

Dehradun: The Ankita Bhandari murder case has once again sparked controversy in Uttarakhand. Dushyant Kumar Gautam, BJP National General Secretary and the party’s in-charge for Uttarakhand, has written to the state’s Home Secretary demanding the removal of social media videos and audio clips linking him to the case. He termed these as malicious attempts to tarnish his image and sought government intervention.

In his letter to Home Secretary Shailesh Bagoli on Thursday, Gautam urged that relevant social media platforms and news channels be instructed to immediately remove such content and prevent its further dissemination. He requested that any direct or indirect circulation of such material be stopped.

Allegations of Malicious Content
Along with the letter, Gautam submitted a list of social media accounts and news channels allegedly spreading false and malicious claims against him. He stated that recently he became aware of a criminal conspiracy in which antisocial elements had fabricated audio recordings. This content, he alleged, is being deliberately circulated to defame him, incite hatred, and damage his reputation.

Viral Video Deepens Controversy
The controversy revolves around a viral video and purported audio conversation involving a woman named Urmila Sanawar, who claims to be the wife of former MLA Suresh Rathore from Jwalapur, Haridwar. In the video, Sanawar makes several claims about the 2022 Ankita Bhandari murder case. The accused in the receptionist murder case have already been sent to jail, but the political debate around the matter has resurfaced, fueled by these videos. Reports also suggest that AI-generated content may be involved, depicting former legislators in ways that did not occur.

Call for Government Action
Gautam has requested that the state government take prompt action on his complaint, ensure the removal of fabricated content, and hold the culprits accountable. The incident has once again brought the Ankita Bhandari murder case into the political spotlight.
