Sanjay Sarawgi’s political career began with the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) during his student days. He joined the BJP in 1995, served as a corporator in Darbhanga Municipal Corporation, and was first elected as MLA in 2005. Since then, he has won five consecutive terms in 2005, 2010, 2015, 2020, and 2025, becoming one of Bihar’s most influential leaders. He has also served as a cabinet minister in the Nitish Kumar government before ascending to his current leadership role.
