BSRTC to Launch Regular Bus Services Connecting 12 Major Bihar Cities to Delhi

The Bihar Transport Department is set to introduce regular bus services from key cities such as Patna, Muzaffarpur, Bhagalpur, and Gaya to Delhi. These buses will offer comfortable seating and modern facilities, providing passengers a convenient alternative to train travel.

Connecting 12 Major Cities

The proposed service will cover Patna, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Darbhanga, Buxar, Gaya, Kishanganj, Nawada, East Champaran, Araria, Bihar Sharif, and Madhubani. To facilitate this, the department is considering a mutual transport agreement between Bihar and Delhi. Once implemented, passengers will benefit from affordable ticket prices and seamless bus connectivity to the national capital.

Extensive Route Through Bihar and Uttar Pradesh

According to the draft proposal published on the department’s official website, the buses will pass through several major towns in Bihar, including Ara, Buxar, Chhapra, Siwan, Gopalganj, Danapur, Pali, Daudnagar, Aurangabad, Bodh Gaya, Hisua, Wazirganj, Dobhi, Sherghati, Sasaram, and Nalanda.

In Uttar Pradesh, buses will connect Lucknow, Ayodhya, Agra, Gorakhpur, Basti, Prayagraj, Deoria, Chandauli, Aligarh, and Kanpur, before reaching New Delhi and Kashmiri Gate. This extensive network aims to significantly enhance passenger convenience and intercity connectivity.

Public Feedback Invited

The Transport Department has invited written suggestions and objections from vehicle owners regarding the proposed routes. The last date for submission is December 12, 2025, after which no further inputs will be considered.

Officials highlighted that due to limited train availability, traveling from Bihar to Delhi can often be challenging. The launch of regular bus services is expected to provide greater convenience, improved connectivity, and a cost-effective alternative for passengers. Implementation work has already begun, with the services expected to commence soon.
