Raipur: On the second day of the Chhattisgarh Rajyotsav celebrations marking the state’s 25th Foundation Day, Governor Ramen Deka graced the occasion as the chief guest and highlighted the state’s remarkable journey of progress and transformation over the past quarter century.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said, “The completion of 25 years of Chhattisgarh’s formation is a proud moment for every citizen. This silver jubilee year gives us the opportunity to reflect on our journey so far and to renew our commitment for the future.”
He recalled that when Chhattisgarh was formed in the year 2000, it was a state filled with challenges but also great hope and potential. “Over the past twenty-five years, the state has achieved significant growth in all sectors — education, health, agriculture, industry, power, roads, and culture,” he said.
Chhattisgarh: A Young State with a Distinct Identity
Governor Deka described Chhattisgarh as a young and vibrant state that has built a unique identity through its talent and determination. Paying tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the architect of Chhattisgarh, and to all great leaders who contributed to its foundation, he said their vision continues to inspire the state’s progress.
Praise for CM Vishnu Deo Sai’s Leadership
The Governor commended Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and his government for implementing welfare-oriented schemes that are empowering the rural economy, farmers, tribal communities, women, and youth. “Under the leadership of Chief Minister Sai, the state government has laid a strong and sustainable foundation for development,” he remarked.
He added that Chhattisgarh’s cultural heritage, natural wealth, and hardworking citizens are its greatest strengths. “While development is essential, maintaining a balance with nature is equally important,” he cautioned.
Rapid Progress Toward a Naxal-Free Chhattisgarh
On the issue of Naxalism, the Governor said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, combined efforts of the central and state governments have brought visible change. “Areas once gripped by fear and violence are now witnessing road construction, school openings, and the return of smiles on children’s faces,” he said.
He emphasized that farmers, laborers, youth, and women are the true strength of Chhattisgarh. “Their dedication and resolve will make Chhattisgarh self-reliant and progressive,” he stated.
Vision for the Future
Concluding his address, Governor Deka urged the citizens to take a pledge in this silver jubilee year to make Chhattisgarh a model of good governance, development, and harmony. “Together, by using our resources wisely and responsibly, we can ensure that Chhattisgarh emerges among the leading states of India,” he said.
