Dehradun: The weather in Uttarakhand remains dry, with temperatures expected to drop by 2–3°C in some areas. The cold wave has intensified the chill, making the mornings particularly biting across the plains. Meanwhile, frost in the mountainous regions has created slippery road conditions, posing challenges for drivers.
The absence of pre-monsoon rains has resulted in a dry cold, increasing the risk of infectious diseases. While daytime sunshine provides some comfort, vulnerable groups—including children, senior citizens, pregnant women, and patients with chronic illnesses—are advised to take precautions.
Agricultural damage is also being reported as frost settles on crops in the hills. Meteorologists have indicated that this weather pattern is likely to persist for the next few days, with temperatures remaining lower than usual.
Today, Dehradun is expected to record a maximum temperature of 26°C and a minimum of 9°C. Although no official weather warnings have been issued, doctors recommend taking extra care to protect health during the intense cold spell.
