
New Delhi, November 24, 2025: A grand three-day commemoration is underway at Delhi’s historic Red Fort to mark the 350th martyrdom anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, along with several cabinet ministers and Sikh religious representatives, attended the event on Sunday.
CM Gupta’s Message: A Tribute to Guru Sahib’s Eternal Legacy
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta shared her thoughts on social media platform ‘X’, expressing gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the solemn and majestic ceremony organized by the Delhi government at the Red Fort.
She wrote that Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s unparalleled sacrifice continues to guide humanity, reminding the world that standing up for truth, justice and the protection of human rights is the supreme duty of mankind. His martyrdom, she said, will always remain immortal in the soul of India.
A Confluence of Devotion, Culture and National Pride
The commemoration features a light-and-sound show, a heritage museum, devotional kirtan, and a kavi darbar, all dedicated to the life, teachings, and sacrifice of Guru Sahib. The Red Fort, a timeless symbol of India’s sovereignty, forms the backdrop for this grand national tribute.
Gupta noted that the event represents a collective resolve to honour India’s spiritual and cultural heritage. She described it as “a celebration of national gratitude and collective commitment.”
Delhi: Guardian of an Eternal Legacy
The Chief Minister highlighted the historical and spiritual significance of Delhi as a witness to Guru Sahib’s supreme sacrifice. She recalled that the sacred Sis Ganj Sahib Gurdwara in Chandni Chowk continues to stand as a living reminder that defending the faith and rights of others is the truest form of service.
An Appeal to Embrace Guru Sahib’s Ideals
Calling upon citizens to adopt Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib’s values in their daily lives, CM Gupta urged people to uphold truth, humanity and religious freedom. She invited families across Delhi to join the commemorative events and experience this sacred legacy.
The ceremony was attended by cabinet ministers including Manjinder Singh Sirsa, Kapil Mishra, and several representatives from Sikh gurdwara committees.
