Muzaffarnagar (UP): A high-speed car rammed into a roadside dhaba on the Delhi-Dehradun National Highway-58 on Thursday night, narrowly missing a family standing outside, police said. The shocking incident was captured on CCTV and quickly went viral on social media.
The footage shows the car smashing into the dhaba, causing significant damage to the property. The family outside the eatery escaped without any injuries, avoiding what could have been a tragic accident.
Driver Reverses and Hits Pole
According to police, when the dhaba staff rushed to stop the vehicle, the driver reversed the car and hit a pole outside the establishment, before fleeing the scene. The vehicle caused structural damage to part of the dhaba and broke a pole in the process.
CCTV Footage Leads to Identification
The CCTV footage helped authorities identify the car and its driver within hours. CO Sadar, Ravishankar Mishra, confirmed that the Purkazi police have verified the vehicle and driver details and are investigating the case urgently.
Authorities have urged anyone with further information to come forward, as the driver is still at large. The incident has sparked concern among locals about road safety on NH-58, especially late at night when high-speed vehicles pose a serious threat.
