Indore Man Survives Shooting as ATM Card and Mobile Phone Stop Bullet – Amitabh Bachchan’s ‘Billa 786’ Moment Recreated

Indore, Madhya Pradesh: In a dramatic incident reminiscent of Amitabh Bachchan’s iconic movie Deewar, a young man narrowly escaped death when masked assailants fired at him in broad daylight. The bullet was stopped by his ATM card and mobile phone, leaving him with only minor injuries.

Incident Details

The incident occurred on Saturday around 1:30 PM near the parking area of Bhootnath Temple. Two masked men on a black scooter opened fire at 25-year-old Vinay Patidar, who was caught off guard.

  • The bullet struck Vinay’s pants pocket, hitting both his mobile phone and ATM card.
  • Miraculously, the devices absorbed the impact, preventing a potentially fatal injury. Vinay sustained only minor scratches on his leg.

Vinay told the police, “I felt a burning sensation, then realized my phone was broken and my ATM card was torn. That’s when I noticed the bullet had hit my leg.”

CCTV footage shows the attackers fleeing the scene on their scooter, and the police are reviewing the recordings as part of the investigation.

Possible Motive

Initial investigations suggest that the shooting may have been triggered by a minor dispute over parking between Vinay and the assailants the previous day. Despite the daytime incident, the FIR was registered around 2 AM.

DCP Krishna Lalchandani confirmed the attack and stated that police teams have been dispatched to Ujjain to locate the suspects.

This incident has drawn attention for its unusual twist, with Vinay’s ATM card and phone acting as lifesaving shields, evoking comparisons to Amitabh Bachchan’s legendary “Billa 786” scene from Deewar.
