
Ranchi: A high-rise residential building in the Jharkhand capital was engulfed in flames on Friday morning, triggering panic among residents. The fire broke out on the 11th floor of Pearl Orchid Apartments, exposing lapses in safety measures. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
Fire Response and Containment
According to Jitendra Tiwari, head of the State Fire Services and Fire Officer at Doranda Station, seven fire trucks were dispatched to the scene. After nearly an hour of intense firefighting, the blaze was brought under control. The fire reportedly originated in a flat on the 11th floor, with the first alert reaching the fire department around 7:30 AM.
Suspected Cause: Kitchen Gas Leak
While the exact cause of the fire is still under investigation, initial reports suggest that a kitchen gas leak may have triggered the incident. Fire officials are conducting a detailed inquiry to confirm the source.
Panic and Evacuation
The sudden outbreak of fire created chaos in the building and surrounding areas. Residents rushed to evacuate the apartments in a hurry, creating a tense and fearful atmosphere. Emergency teams successfully evacuated all occupants before the situation escalated further. It is believed that the fire started when a gas cylinder ignited, prompting the emergency response.
No Casualties Reported
Despite the intensity of the blaze and damage to household property, no injuries or fatalities have been reported. Firefighters were able to bring the situation under control promptly, preventing a major disaster.
