Obscene Video Incident on Namo Bharat Train: Students Identified, Schools to Take Strict Action

The high-tech Namo Bharat Rapid Rail, often showcased as a symbol of modern India, recently witnessed an incident that raised serious concerns about public decency and security oversight. Authorities have now identified the student and female student seen in an obscene video recorded inside a train coach, and their respective educational institutions are preparing to take stringent disciplinary action, including possible expulsion. Police have also initiated a formal investigation into the matter.

The incident occurred on November 24, during a journey between Duhai Station and Meerut South. Taking advantage of a sparsely occupied coach, the students allegedly engaged in highly objectionable and obscene acts in public view, crossing all limits of social decorum. Shockingly, during the entire stretch of the journey, neither any security personnel intervened nor did any passenger object. The incident was captured on the CCTV cameras installed inside the coach, and the footage went viral on December 20, triggering widespread outrage.

Students from Different Schools Identified

Following the video’s circulation on social media, the police acted swiftly and identified both individuals. Preliminary investigation revealed that the female student is enrolled in a school in Duhai, while the male student studies at a school in Rajnagar Extension. Given the seriousness of the incident and its impact on the institutions’ reputations, the managements of both schools have initiated proceedings to remove the students. Since the video went viral, neither student has been attending school, and their mobile phones remain switched off.

Employee Who Leaked Video Dismissed

In a parallel development, the train employee accused of leaking the CCTV footage was dismissed from service on the very day the matter came to light. The action was taken on grounds of breach of privacy and violation of service rules.

Confirming the developments, NCERTC CPRO Punit Vats stated that the organization has taken the incident very seriously. He assured that security arrangements and monitoring mechanisms will be further strengthened to prevent such incidents in the future and to maintain the dignity and safety of passengers.

The episode has not only sparked debate over public behavior and moral responsibility, but has also raised questions about security vigilance in premium public transport systems. Authorities have emphasized that while disciplinary and legal action will follow, ensuring stricter surveillance and swift intervention will be key to avoiding such incidents going forward.
