Rajasthan Education Minister Madan Dilawar has ordered a detailed investigation into a teacher repeatedly taking medical leave at the Government Upper Primary School, Devli (Aouwa). The directive came after the minister conducted a surprise inspection at the school and reviewed staff attendance registers.
Minister Discovers Unusual Attendance Pattern
During his visit, Minister Dilawar toured classrooms and interacted with students to assess teaching activities. While examining the staff attendance register, he noticed that one teacher had been taking medical leave frequently. The minister questioned the nature of the teacher’s repeated absences, asking what health issues required such regular leave.
SDM and District Education Officer Ordered to Investigate
The principal informed the minister that all leaves were sanctioned based on submitted medical certificates. Dissatisfied with this explanation, Minister Dilawar instructed the Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) and the District Education Officer to conduct a thorough investigation. The inquiry will examine:
- Who issued the medical certificates
- The medical conditions cited
- Locations where the teacher reportedly received treatment during leave
The minister emphasized that the probe should establish whether the medical leaves were genuine or being misused.
Additional Directives on School Discipline
In addition to the investigation, Minister Dilawar reinforced routine school practices. He instructed that daily morning assemblies include Surya Namaskar, Vande Mataram, and the National Anthem before school dismissal. The minister stated that these practices must be conducted regularly and no negligence will be tolerated, reinforcing state-wide directives for pre-dismissal student assemblies.
This probe reflects the government’s strict oversight on staff accountability and adherence to school schedules while ensuring students’ participation in disciplined morning routines.
