New Aadhaar App Feature Lets You Share Only What’s Necessary, Protects Your Personal Details

New Delhi: The latest Aadhaar App now offers a “Selective Share” feature, allowing users to share only the specific details needed while keeping other personal information private. This is a significant step in protecting users’ privacy and reducing the risk of misuse.

The official Aadhaar App, developed by UIDAI, enables citizens to access all Aadhaar-related services securely from their mobile devices. From biometric lock and unlock to verification services, the app has simplified many tasks. Among its features, Selective Share stands out by letting users choose exactly which Aadhaar details to share.

Share Only What’s Needed

Users no longer need to share their complete Aadhaar information. Whether it is a verification process or a service that requires identity confirmation, you can now share only the details necessary for that specific purpose. This prevents unnecessary exposure of sensitive personal data such as photo, name, date of birth, gender, address, mobile number, or email.

Family Aadhaar Management Made Easy

The app also allows you to store Aadhaar cards of your family members, eliminating the need to carry physical copies. Login and verification are seamless with Face ID, and QR code scanning works similar to UPI payments, ensuring that only required information is shared while safeguarding privacy.

How to Use the Selective Share Feature

  1. Open the Aadhaar App on your device.
  2. Tap on the Share ID option on the screen.
  3. You will see three options: Complete Share, Selective Share, and Download Share.
  4. Select Selective Share.
  5. Tick the boxes for the information you wish to share.
  6. Click Confirm & Share to complete the process.

This feature empowers users to maintain control over their personal data while continuing to access essential services securely, marking a major step forward in digital privacy protection.
