“Flipkart Sold Me an Invalid Flight Ticket Just a Day Before My Flight,” Passenger Alleges

While customers often report delays or wrong deliveries from e-commerce giant Flipkart, a recent incident has taken online shopping woes to a new level. Syed Fahad, a passenger, has accused Flipkart of selling him an illegal flight ticket just a day before his scheduled journey, leaving him stranded.

Sharing his plight on social media platform X, Fahad revealed that his flight from Delhi to Hanoi with VietJet Air was scheduled for the following day. However, upon checking, he discovered that his booking was invalid, and the airline had no record of his ticket. Despite contacting Flipkart, he claims he received no proper assistance.

Fahad further shared his PNR number, confirming that VietJet Air’s official records showed no booking under his name. He added that customer service initially directed him to the airline, only to learn that his ticket had been canceled due to improper processing by Flipkart.

This incident has raised fresh questions about Flipkart Travel, the platform’s flight booking service, which has faced multiple complaints in the past for delayed deliveries, incorrect orders, and now, invalid flight bookings.

Precautions for Online Flight Bookings:

  • Always verify your booking by entering the PNR on the airline’s official website immediately after purchase.
  • Avoid unknown or less trusted platforms, especially when booking discounted or offer-based tickets.
  • Keep screenshots of tickets, payment receipts, and email confirmations as proof.
  • Recheck your booking 24–48 hours before your flight through the airline app or website to avoid last-minute surprises.

This case serves as a warning for travelers to exercise extra caution while booking flights online, even through reputed platforms.
