Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is set to make a big splash in India on 6 January 2026 with the launch of its latest tablet, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro. The tablet is being marketed as the largest battery-equipped tablet in India, boasting a massive 12,000mAh battery—a first in the country. Alongside a Wi-Fi model, the company may also offer a Wi-Fi + SIM variant.

Redmi Pad 2 Pro Key Features
Although India-specific specifications have not yet been revealed, the global variant offers impressive features:

  • Display: 12.1-inch 2.1K screen with 120Hz refresh rate and Dolby Vision support.
  • Battery & Charging: 12,000mAh battery with 27W fast charging support (Indian charging speed TBA).
  • Processor: Global models use the 7S Gen4 chipset.
  • Audio: Quad-speaker setup with Dolby Atmos for crisp and loud sound.
  • Camera: Dual 8MP cameras on the front and back, ideal for online classes and video calls.

SIM and 5G Connectivity
Sources suggest that Redmi Pad 2 Pro may also launch a SIM-supported variant. This model could support 5G connectivity for faster internet access, particularly for users without reliable broadband. Reports indicate that the SIM functionality may extend beyond just data, potentially enabling voice calls as well.

With its record-breaking battery, high refresh-rate display, and multimedia capabilities, the Redmi Pad 2 Pro is positioned to become a powerful choice for students, professionals, and entertainment enthusiasts alike. The tablet launch on 6 January is expected to generate considerable excitement among tech enthusiasts in India.
