Rajasthan Transport Department Orders FIRs in Vehicle Number Allocation Scam
Jaipur: The Rajasthan Transport Department has launched its strictest action yet in the ongoing vehicle number allocation scam, directing police to register FIRs against staff involved in fraudulent activities. Transport Commissioner Purushottam Sharma confirmed that fake documents were used to register 7-digit numbers for old vehicles, causing significant losses to the state exchequer.
Immediate Action Across RTOs and DTOsCommissioner Sharma has instructed all Regional Transport Offices (RTOs) and District Transport Offices (DTOs) to take immediate action against employees implicated in the scam. Speaking to the media, he stated, “Any illegal activity tarnishing the department’s image will be dealt with strictly.”
